How I Work

Every session I hold is a ceremony.

No two ceremonies are exactly alike because no two people walk through the door carrying the same life.

We start by sitting together and talking. Maybe you’re grieving. Maybe you feel stuck, disconnected, or like you’ve lost some part of yourself along the way. Maybe you’re moving through a major transition. Maybe you’ve had an experience you can’t explain. Maybe it’s an unexplained illness or pain. Or maybe you don’t have a name for what’s happening at all—you just know something is asking for attention.

We start there.

Heart & Power

Much of my work comes back to two things: the heart and power.

By power, I don’t mean control, dominance, or becoming some spiritually supercharged version of yourself. I’m talking about the parts of us that can get lost, diminished, given away, or buried as we move through life.

Sometimes losing power looks a lot less mystical than it sounds. You lose your voice. Your confidence. Your sense of direction. You stop feeling much like yourself anymore.

Shamanic traditions have different ways of working with this. I may journey with helping spirits, work with power animals, perform a soul retrieval or energy extraction, or use other forms of energy and ceremonial work.

Heart opening is different, but the two often meet.

Grief, loss, love, our ability to receive, the walls we’ve built to protect ourselves—there can be a lot living around the heart.

Sometimes I work with Bobinsana Hapé as a plant ally in a heart-opening ceremony. The medicine can be strong. Emotions can come quickly. You may cry. You may need to be held. You may laugh, make sound, remember something, release something, or simply sit quietly with what comes forward.

The goal isn’t to force anything open.

We create the space and listen.

It’s Spirit’s Show

This is probably the most important part of understanding how I work.

I don’t decide everything that happens in your ceremony.

I work with Spirit and helping spirits. I journey. I ask questions. I listen. Sometimes I’m shown where something needs attention. Sometimes I receive information. Sometimes I’m guided toward a particular practice.

You don’t need to have a relationship with Spirit—or even know what that word means to you—for me to work this way.

And sometimes what comes forward has very little to do with what either of us thought the session was going to be about.

That’s why I don’t work from a script.

A ceremony might include drumming, rattling, singing, movement, energy work, plant medicine, silence, conversation, tears, laughter, or something neither of us expected.

You may spend part of the ceremony lying down while I work around you. At another point you might be sitting across from me talking. You may be actively participating, or your job may simply be to close your eyes, breathe normally, and receive.

My job is to create the ceremony, hold the space, listen carefully, follow the guidance I receive, and stay present with you through whatever comes forward.

I bring my training, my experience, my relationship with Spirit, a diverse toolbox, and a big ass open heart.

You bring yourself.

Spirit chooses the adventure.

You Don’t Have to Believe Me

I think this matters too.

I’ll tell you what I experience. I may tell you what I was shown in a journey or what I felt happening energetically.

You don’t have to make it your truth.

Spirit is central to my work, but so are curiosity and discernment. I don’t believe every difficult emotion needs to be removed, every unexplained pain has a spiritual cause, or every strange experience needs a supernatural explanation.

Sometimes something profound happens.

Sometimes something ordinary happens.

Sometimes we don’t know what happened until much later.

And sometimes we simply don’t know.

I’m okay with that.

Coming In

You don’t need to figure out whether you need a soul retrieval, a power animal, an extraction, heart opening, or something else before you book.

That’s part of the reason we begin by listening.

Come with an intention if you have one.

Come with questions.

Come without either.

We’ll start wherever you are.
